Summary:
One awesome piece of wood cutting machinery. Stihl realy knows how to do it right.
Strengths:
I have had the honor to hold one of these in my hands. Not run it per say, but hold it. It was for a guy who was going to lock it into a stationary sawmill and cut lumber with it. He had a 59" bar on it... good god!
Weaknesses:
How anyone man an handle one of these, I sure don't know. I had to brace it on my hip just to hold it and show it off.

This is a great saw for milling and a awesome saw for big stump cutting. I love the sound of this beast it reminds me of a dirt bike when it is idleing. I thought I would miss my 084 becaise it had a manual oiler pump on it, but when your crank this things oiler up it really gushes out. I love this saw it is better than any of the other large saws that I have milled with over the years. I bought every size bar they offer for it and can do anything with this beast.
Strengths:
Very Powerful, No stopping this baby even in large hard wood stumps.
Plenty of oil while milling with it too.

After years of drooling over the MS 880 I now proudly own one. You haven't run a saw until you have ran one of these bad boys all day!! If you can, invest in one of these. You will have bragging rights, and the meanest stock saw money can buy.
Strengths:
Very powerful saw. Will take on the biggest of jobs and not complain about it. Compression realease is a must!!! Will make rather quick work out of about any project.
Weaknesses:
The pull handle is a little weak. Broke mine within 3 weeks after purchasing it new. I put a sowmobile handle in its place, get a real grip on it now. A true gas guzzler!! Just the looks and size of it my fellow wood cutters don't care to run it, especially after they hear it run. They seem to be rather "intemidated" by it.

Strengths:
I have a MS660 with a 3/8P .050 36 skip chain, a MS441 with a 3/8P .050 28" skip chain, a 029 from 1992 with a 3/8P .050 18" skip chain and a 191T with a 14" micro. I just got the MS880 with a .063 .404 41" skip and this saw eats white oak like crazy. I was throwing chips out that was covering my boots while I was cutting down a 4' diameter tree. It has the power and doesn't bog down at all. I will look to get a 59" by the Fall 2010.
Weaknesses:
It's heavy when you carry it, but when you are working it, you forget and are just amazed at the speed it cuts.
