This is a great saw for the person who needs a larger saw. This is the higher tech version of the older 044 and 440 series saw in the past. It is the next generation in chainsaw technology.

Awesome saw for anyone and pro's always will find a spot this saw, great value and no or low vibe.It's a STIHL!

Strengths:
Almost no vibe! plenty of power and i run a 26"bar no sweat, love the new air filtration system,runs great all day and an awesome felling saw or for cutting those big rounds/wheels/bucking!.

Weaknesses:
don't forget to kick the dust away or you'll get buried.

Summary:
Very happy with the saw and its performance you get what you pay for with the ms 441. 18 to 20 inch bar its one bad dude. If you want to run over a 20 inch bar even though the 441 will do it with out a problem i would step up to the ms 460.

Strengths:
great saw cuts faster then my old 044 not quite as fast of cutting as the ms 460 But pretty darn close. has a mean sound to it when running. Idles smooth raps quick lots of power. No vibrations at all. Little more compact then the 044 and 460 weights about the same. Easy on fuel starts easy. I run an 18 in bar and with an 18 its balance is spot on. The 20in is a little nose heavy. My only heat is wood so i cut a lot every year. I have had several stihls the 441 and the 046 460 are my favs. I getting ready to sell my 044 and buy another 441 for a back up. Cant go wrong with the 441. Side note the ms 361 i was very dissapointed in it not near the saw i thought it would be at all. The 441 im super happy with it.

Weaknesses:
Little on the heavy side but what does one except with a saw the size of the 441. If you want something that dont mess around and cuts supper fast in any type of wood then they are going to be a little heavy.

Summary:
Good all around saw. Great anti-vib that has been added with the 441. Good saw if only one saw is being used (although I might shy towards recommending the 361 for most single saw users). Great on fuel consumption. Can take just about anything you throw at it - have a 28" bar on it.

Great power for mid-range saw. Good anti-vib system. Great fuel consumption. Good power to weight ratio.

seen a few owners of husky 372 model stop for fuel and oil b4 441. same chain new on either saw, 441 will win every time.

16-32 inch bar. side chain adjustment. adjustable oiler. easy on fluids. big on power and run time for firewood cutters. air filter system a must have

having to run it with huskys running near by

Summary:
Great saw. Used to own an older 041 Stihl, and a couple of 100cc Poulans, the 441 is far superior to all of these.

Lots of power for a mid size saw, no problem running a 28" bar. Very quick with a 20"

Dont buy a ms441 it will only WEAR OUT!! Run new chain and still cut like a old fart...

No Stump power for the weight. Iam a everyday log cutter. I went through two brand new ms441 in about 3 years. They wear down quick, I went to 460 alot better saw.

Dont buy this saw. Stihl go back to the 440.

Lots of power. it is a large saw

Weaknesses:
The only parts that fit the 440 and the 441 are the bar nuts, bar, and chain. This is very inconvienient since this saw is supposed the replace the 440. I am not happy with this saw. Its bulky, its heavy, but worst of all it falls apart. too many moving parts and technology that is not yet perfected. If you want a good saw go with the 460. If the 460 goes away our Hotshot crew will probably go with Husky saws.

Strengths:
No vibration at all. Easy on fuel. Can run longer (read cut more wood) than 460 due to these 2 things.Replacements parts are fast to recieve and resonably priced.

Weaknesses:
Bogs down if you try to push it through. Not much aftermarket still yet. Cost to much.

Strengths:
Love it. I got a 28" skip chain on a 3/8P .050 bar. It is weighted just right so the tip bows down just a bit. The saw screams and got thru everything I put it to. After using my MS880 to fell the big ones, the MS441 does great to prun all the branches off.

Best saw I have ever used. I have more than 4 Stihl's and at least 8 various brands.

Strengths:
Excellent Saw - have used for over two years on oaks, maples, hickory's, and walnut's. Feels heavy at first but it cuts so quick and easy so the weight is not a problem. Has almost no vibration! I have use it to build a log cabin and found it easier to maneuver for the notches then the small saws. Very good air filtration system - best I have ever seen.

Weaknesses:
Usually starts right up but if you don't get it right before it warms up then it will flood and will need to be dried out before it kicks over again. Not a really a weakness typically a user fault.

EXCELLENT AND POWERFUL SAW. HAVE USED SMALLER SAWS BEFORE AND JUST DIDN'T CUT IT. THE 441 IS EVERYTHING I WOULD EVER NEED

Powerful and efficient, even with a 20" bar it slices through oak logs like butter. You couldn't drop it any faster than it cuts through. Best saw I ever owned.
