Summary:
Very impressed at first use. Very disappointed that it's in the shop for repairs after only two or three hours of use. Very disappointed that the shop told me that it would be at least 10 days before they could get to work on my KM 90 because they are that far behind on repairs.
If they actually fix it and it runs, consistently, like it did when I first fired it up, I would give it a 10 out of 10.
I have read a few forums on this subject and have found out that there are a lot of people having the same problems with this motor.
Strengths:
Power, multiple tools, looks cool, fuel efficient.
Weaknesses:
Used it for two hours before it broke. At first it was very easy to start. After a couple of uses it became more difficult to start. The last time I used it, it started easy when it was cold, but I had to crank and crank and crank after shutting it down to change from trimmer to blower. After I finally got it to start, it sputtered and died. Cranked and cranked and cranked and it started again. Had to feather the throttle trigger to keep it running. Once I got it up to max RPM, it ran okay, but I could tell something still wasn't right. Rather than shut it off while I moved a few things off the sidewalk so I could blow it off, I decided to let it sit and idle. It idled okay for a couple of minutes and then it shut off. After that it wouldn't start again.
