Summary:
I really do like this. I do wish I would have spent the extra for the FS110. I can run more attachments that I find myself wanting, if your only need is grass this trimmer is a beast.
Strengths:
Very light weight, love the 4-mix engine. Runs very quiet and has lots of power. Way better than the older models I had been used to. Starts very easy.
Weaknesses:
You need to make sure you have plenty of string hanging out to cut with or the head starts acting up. Stihl has a lot of other head options, I'm okay with the bump providing that I have a good 2" of string hanging out.

performance dosn't matter if you can't start it!!!! i have an 039 stihl saw that i have had for 10+ years. no mater how long it sits i can start it in 3-8 pulls. i'm constantally messing around with this trimmers carburator. I bought it cause i wanted it to use it for at least 5 years. i should have bought a honda. i have heard a lot of bad stuff about the newer stihl carbs. I'm serously thinking about switching brands with all my small engine tools.
Strengths:
good horse power and runs at any angle. lots of attachments
Weaknesses:
carb trouble after about 2 years if not run every week.

Summary:
Good unit just needs a better cutting head
Strengths:
Lots of power, easy to start, not to heavy, very quiet.
Weaknesses:
The trimmer head is always loosing the 1 chord into the head thus alot of down time.

Summary:
Only use this one when I have to. Would love to sell it. Have had easier to use machines in junk polan. echo still gets my vote and tanaka is very good also if they ever start using a real air filter.
Strengths:
has good power/torque, may last a while, good air filter.
Weaknesses:
heavy, very very poor balance (wants to turn in your hand and not balanced length wise from either hand hold. vibration. hard to start! poor throttle control (either idle or 3/4 throttle or more)

RAM and Stihl are a good match. Both are best in class! And I should know becsuae I own both a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4 4 diesel and a Stihl Farm Boss 20 chain saw. Both of these are the best I've ever owned. The Ram diesel tows my 5er around the country with ease and problem-free. The Stihl Farm Boss was purchased becsuae I'd been through too many chain saws that didn't last very long and were problem-prone. The Farm Boss has been trouble-free so far and a great addition to my tool crib.
