Light runs great...if you can get to start!

Summary:
I should have bought an Echo. Worked great the first season. Then wouldn't want to keep running. Yes I did drain the fuel before storing. All of my Echo products started right up but the stihl wouldn't. Took it back for warranty and they wouldn't cover it.( said it must of had old fuel ) that was funny because my 10yr old echo trimmer ( same gas ) still runs great. They fixed it without calling me first, anyway ran for a few months now the same not wanting to keep running again.
Strengths:
edges good if you can keep it running

Hard to start. Have to run at full throttle. Did I say hard to start and keep running.

Summary:
Would not buy another Stihl edger, maybe not another Stihl product. When the edger was 5 years old it died completely. The Stihl repair shop said it would cost 160.00 to replace the ingition module. I told them no thanks. My 5 year old Stihl blower and trimmer are tempermental about starting and running but they still run. I maintain them by the (Stihl) book. I wanted good quality tools so I laid out the cash for the brand name. Now I'm disillusioned and looking at cheap electric models.
Strengths:
Edged reasonably well in thin grass when it worked.
Weaknesses:
Poor perfomance over its short life. Only lasted 5 years.
The older it got, the harder it was to start and keep running.
Marginal performance in thick grass, cut only about 75 percent with new blade.
