Summary:
not a real bad saw for the money if you get a good one.

Strengths:
The saw wasn't very expensive but, now I know why. It has about 15 minutes total time.

Weaknesses:
The spring that holds the plastic line down into the oil is pushing it up. It ruined the chain and the bar.

Summary:
So far, so good. Can't beat the price. It will work great for everything I will ever need it for.

Strengths:
Great value. I got a factory reconditioned model for $70 from a local store. Took it home, put it together and it started right up. Runs great.

Weaknesses:
I have read many reviews saying that it has problems starting, idling, among other things. I am not sure that these problems aren't user caused as I have had no problems. I am wondering if some people try to use straight gas without mixing the oil in. I don't think it would run too good if they did this. This is just an example of something that someone could have done and then say it is a bad chainsaw. (I don't know of anyone who has done this personally)

Summary:
I have two 3314's. Bought first one from Sears for $120 because my Craftsman IncrediPull never ran and I needed a back up. Then my wife found a 4620 for $129 at a Home Depot closeout and two weeks ago I bought another 3314 at Walmart for $50 (display model). These Poulans are great saws for the money. The 3314s seem well made. The 4620 feels a little cheap. Probably too much saw to be made entirely of plastic.

Strengths:
Runs good, starts well, reliable, light weight makes it great for limb trimming

Weaknesses:
I have not found a problem with this little saw.

Summary:
Needed a small saw for the house and this was a great price and a good name. I am totally disappointed.

Strengths:
Looked nice, great price.

Weaknesses:
Put it together, tried to start it and on the forth pull....the cord wouldn't recoil.....took it apart and fixed it....so I thought, did it again after five pulls!

Strengths:
Low price, light weight

Weaknesses:
Started right up but wouldn't idle correctly After five minuits of use gas was leaking all over. Probablly loose gas line to carb, or carb not tightened down. Didn't look just put it back in the box and returned it.

Summary:
Threw it in the garbage and considered the $109 as stupid tax for trying to go for a less expensive model. The price point is what got me. Great price but I now have nothing to show for it.

Strengths:
Seemed like a good value for the price.

Weaknesses:
One successful use in the fall, I broke it out the next spring and the starter cord would not recoil and apparently never will. The saw came out of the box with the chain installed backwards. Receipt was long gone by the time this happened. I spoke to an employee at my local Lowes who informed me their rep said Poulan products are junk and he recommended a Husqvarna at 2x the price.

This is a home owner product but if you need support from the 800 number you have to call during the week (when your at work).

Strengths:
none.

Weaknesses:
starting takes about 10 minutes, I've had the saw for 1 and a half years and it has never run longer than 2 minutes - it's easier and faster to make my cuts with a hand saw. I have had 3 other chain saws over the years, this is my first and last Poulan product.

Summary:
If used for what it's purpose is, and if the owner can figure out how to read, This is a fair price for a home utility machine. Mine just keeps on ticking, and always starts on the 2nd pull. ALWAYS! Keep the saw CLEAN, the blade sharp and use only quality gas in the proper gas oil mixture! Remember, the customer is always right..... If he reads the manual first! and no, I don't work for Pulaan.

Strengths:
I haven't had a problem in the almost one year I have owned it. Remember, it is what it is.... an inexpensive homeowner saw. This also implies that you should really read the manual and perform ALL scheduled cleaning and maintenance. Never, Never, Never leave 2 cycle oil in an inexpensive chainsaw more than a few days. This goes even for Stihl! AND most of all DO NOT use gasohol in these machines. Only Shell, Sunoco, Marathon... No Speedway, BP or other non-pure gasoline. Those alcohol/gasolines are fine for 4 stroke engines but NOT small 2 strokers. The reason your chord pull starts are breaking is probably because you are using gas which has been sitting in the machine for some time! You are needlessly pulling it way too much! When you are done with it, empty the gas and run the gas out of the carb until the engine stops on its own, leaving NO gas mix in the carburetor. ALSO, make SURE you are using the correct mix of oil and gas. Small engines are sensitive to this. Most of the problems I am seeing here are from people not doing what the manual tells them to do!

Weaknesses:
Plastic housing worries me a little, cheap chain supplied... Owner should ASAP change the chain to Carbide tips and maintain the sharpness. Do not force a dull blade through wood! Do not let the blade saw into soil or dirt or metal objects buried in the wood! Not even a carbide blade will last under those conditions. Dull blades are the kind of thing that cause severe injuries. I would not cut more than a 12" log with this saw.

Summary:
I have used this saw for the last 8years (woodshark), had to on occasion reset the recoil rope due to pulling it out, 7th year after 10+ cords of 8foot length oak and birch per year i installed a new piston ring that cost $2.50, yesterday i blew a piston ring again and the piston has a small groove in its upper lip, piston kit costs $23.00. For approx $12.00/year i dont have a complaint at all and will pass on piston/ring replacement and buy a new saw asap

Strengths:
a workhorse, I abuse chainsaws I will be out tomorrow to pick up another

recoil, dont pull the cord till it maxes out or you take a chance at it pulling out of the recoil

Fantastic deal for the money.

Strengths:
Good performance from a light weight little saw. Have used mine now for 3 years with no problems. Starts right up. Small blade is quick to be sharpened. Had a much larger saw, but that tired me out. This one is easy on the operator.

Weaknesses:
None that I have experienced.
