Summary:
Picked this up used at my local hardware for 99 dollars. Best investment after the ice storm knocked all my trees down here in Oklahoma. Cut up huge tree limbs as fast as lightning and I couldn't keep up with it. Not bad for a used chainsaw.
Strengths:
Cuts like hot knife thru butter. Starts easily, runs smooth, powerful.
Weaknesses:
Haven't found any.

Summary:
It would be a great around the house project saw. If you really plan on using your chainsaw for any period of time or want one that will last more than a year spend the extra money and get a good one. I use my dads sthil that he bought when he was 18 and passed down to me!
Strengths:
It's cheap
Weaknesses:
Chain does not stay tight during extended use (more than 5 minutes), blades go dull very quickly, And what good is a chainsaw if you can't put the gas cap on. Also have trouble running it in hot weather

Summary:
You get what you pay for! This saw does what a 139.00 (on sale) saw is supposed to do (cut some wood and through it away when it breaks). If you only cut a few cord a year than I would recommend this saw. Anything more than a couple cord and I would look at a Stihl, Husky.
Strengths:
Inexpensive. Runs pretty good once warmed up.
Weaknesses:
4-8 pulls to get started. Continuously leaks bar oil when not in use. Makes one heck of a mess in the saw case.

Summary:
Wasted my hard earned dollars on this piece of junk.
Strengths:
Once I got a better chain, it cut OK
Weaknesses:
Plastic gas cap won't screw in properly, need to use pliers to seat and unseat plug. Chain tension doesn't hold properly. After using for a couple of months, it would not idel properly. Tried to adjust idel with no luck. Checked exhaust system to see that that wasn't causing back pressure. Changed plug and type of gas. Still trouble shooting this thing. Had 2 SEARS 18 inch machines that last me 20 years of hard cutting. This thing couldn't make it a year just normal around the yard use.

Summary:
I won't buy another Poulan now that I see they don't stand behind their products. They know there is a problem with the caps on these things and just sold me another $15 or so.
For the casual user it is a good powered saw for the money.
Strengths:
Ease of chain replacement and tension. Plenty of power for the normal user. Might not be the best for professional use.
Weaknesses:
Gas cap swells. I contacted Poulan and they said it is the new gas but I use the new gas in all my saws and don't have this problem. Must be the Chinese materials in it. I keep two caps and rotate.

Summary:
i think its a great saw! i'd recommend replacing the chains it comes with(i chose oregon S62, much better chain). i've had my saw 8 months and after i got familiar with it i was and am still very satisfied. keep it clean, use good quality mix and bar oil, use fuel stabilizer, sharpen it when you refuel and add bar oil to it(just takes a minute) and you'll have yourself a good reliable and affordable chainsaw!
Strengths:
good on gas(also seems to use up a tank of gas and bar oil at the same rate which is convenient), easy to start, chain tension adjusts easily, easy to change chain, easy to clean, nice travel case. you really cant ask more from a cheap saw.
Weaknesses:
chains that came with it dull fast, every once in awhile the chain looses tension for no apparent reason(could be my fault, i don't know)

Summary:
They work good when given the proper breakin and fuel/oil. THis saw is good for the money.
Strengths:
Reasonable cost.spare parts available online. Has enough power for most cutting situations in the types of wood I have cut. Sensitive to oil brand and fuel/oil mix ratio. after testing different oils and ratios I have found a 40:1 mix of the following to work well: 2.6 oz of walmart st aircooled 2 stoke with .5 oz. of amsoil air cooled 2 stroke. try to use a no-ethanol fuel if you can find it.
Weaknesses:
Reqires special tool for adjusting low and high speed carb. screws. can use a electrical crimp connector held by hemostats as a substitute for the correct tool. Saw requires a 'breakin' period if you want to maximize life of saw. 40 min. of idling should be used as a min. breakin time.this breakin can be done in segments ,10 min. each time with a 5 min cool down between runs.Of course a $500 saw won't need a long breakin, but this ain't a $500 saw.

Summary:
Good Bang for the Buck it would have a Big % score if'n it weren't for the cap issues and or Poulan would have done the right thing and sent me a couple caps.
Strengths:
High Quality Chain, still sharp after 20 trees, starts good, runs good.
Weaknesses:
Be Damned Gas and Chain oil caps swell,Stick On .... I E-mailed Poulan they want me to buy a couple of new caps. I insisted that I had n't put anything foriegn in the tank. This is an ankle biter but out in the woods
it is a pain in the ass.

Summary:
Don't buy this one if you have work to do. Buy it if you like a challenge, like getting the gas cap back on.
Strengths:
Runs and starts pretty good after my carb adjustment. Cuts well.
Pretty cheap.
Weaknesses:
Putting the gas cap back on is an EVENT. Bar oil needs to be put in twice for every gas fill. Nice case, perhaps you can use it for something else.
You won't want to put the saw in the case, needs to be stored with CAPS pointed toward the sky. Makes a big mess in the case.
Poulan did not respond to me about the gas cap issue. Every one of my local small engine shops know about the gas cap issue. No fix for it.
