FAST

Weaknesses:
I don't even know where to start. There were to many things that happen and I am returning it back today. I bought it on 6-21-08 and returning it the next day. Well as we try to start it, this thing took about 1 hr. Very Hard to start when cold. Yeah it's fast but be very careful with the chain coming lose. It came lose 3x while cutting. The seals for the gas tank and gear crack. I had gas and oil coming out. This supposed to be a new chain saw just bought it. The neighbor brought his ECHO 14" and did the job. 3 trees cut. very light compare to Poulan Pro's PP3516AVX. My neighbor claim that Poulan Pro's express them selves so good that many of us go out and buy it and this is what I received. What a waist? Poulan needs to recall these machine for safety reason. 1- The chain comes a lose and can hurt some one, "like me" 2- The seals from the gas and gear crack. 3- The screw are always coming a lose from the vibration. 4- Hard to start when cold 5- To Heavy. 6- To many steps on tring to start this machine 6 steps. {The echo was only 2}

Summary:
Keep in mind the saw was only $130. Got saw in Dec of 2007 and have cut about 7-8 full chords of hardwood. The quick chain adjust is great when u put a new chain on...they stretch alot at first. Gotta follow the starting instructions and it will start no problem. Had a 36" red oak dropped on my lot last year and had the larger sections cut up by the tree guy's stihl 660. I then split the whole tree with splitting maul and whatever had knot's or crotches i used the poulan to rip down to firewood size. I have used and older farm boss and 036 from stihl and they run great...they're also 3 to 4X as much. The review before mine might have got a lemon, mine works great. Get a 5/32 file and you'll be cutting all day.

Strengths:
Great running saw for the price about $130

Weaknesses:
Chain brake was broken after 1 year and needed to be replaced

Summary:
Plenty of power.Junky design on their patented "Tool-less chain tensioning". I plan on bringing mine back to lowe's.And get a saw that has studs and nuts to hold on the bar.Not "PLASTIC"!I was so disappointed.I have only had the thing for 2 days.I dont know why they try to improve on something that all ready works,Like studs and nuts!Go figure!

Strengths:
plenty of power for a home owners saw.

Weaknesses:
That tool-less chain tensioning system is no good. For one,it's plastic,2 The chain loosens very easy, and falls off.Even after the chain has been broken in.It still falls off all of the time. After 2 or 3 cuts, either the chain falls off or i have to tighten it.They should have some kind of lock on the chain tensioner.Because it always backs off when you start to cut.Plastic garbage! They could have at least made it out of alluminum.Something that wont just snap right off!

Strengths:
It was cheap. Got a reconditioned one for less than a hundred bucks.

Weaknesses:
I can't keep it running. If is hard to start then it bogs down under a load, dies, and then I can't get it started again.

Summary:
It's a good light saw. Great saw for the money! Run good oil in it and treat it like a tool and not a toy and it'll run. Plus you can get chains and bars anywhere.

Strengths:
It's easy to start and runs good for what it is. I've wore out two bars and it's still running.

Weaknesses:
I do need to keep a eye on the chain, it gets loose to fast, but it's easy to re-tighten and it needs to have the bar nose gear greased very often.

Summary:
I was ready to never buy poulan again because of the tool less tentioner problem but after calling them and complaining they made it right by sending an Old Style clutch cover with two nuts. Thank You Poulan.

Strengths:
GREAT Chain Saw for the Price

Weaknesses:
Tool less Tensioner Is a Piece of JUNK, Chain keeps coming loose inmmediently. Mine was still under warranty, so I called the 800# on Poulan's website and they sent me clutch cover Part# 545012203 and two nuts part#530015917 which is the OLD STYLE two nuts and tentioner screw so it's set up now the classic way which fixes the chain loosing problem with the tool less tentioner design.

Summary:
The saw let me down when I really needed it to cut up a tree that took out my building during hurricane Irene. It would not idle and had not enough power to cut a toothpick. All the Stihl dealers in the area where closed that day and others did not have power, so I spent a full day dis-assembling the saw, cleaning the carb, and adjusting the high and low speed screws. I had blisters on my right hand from pulling on the start cord and burned my left hand on the muffler. Finaly, I had it idling well and holding a high rpm with full press on the trigger. It was idling on my shop floor when it just simply died. I wasted another hour pulling on the start cord with no luck. Now its in my trash can for pick up on Friday. Bought a Stihl, cut up my tree, awesome saw, now I am very happy.

Strengths:
Was an Ok saw for 7 years. Used only to cut fallen limbs and trees on the property.

Weaknesses:
The saw seemed to be designed to work well for a while, die, then go to the landfill. No use wasting time trying to repair it.

Summary:
Great product for the price. Keep blade sharp and tight and it works great. Chain usually comes loose after binding while cutting. All you losers who own the saw for 3+ years but hate it should keep your mouth shut. It was cheap and gave you years of service. Mine has never been hard to start and has never died while using. The chain is easy to tighten so qyb.

Strengths:
Clutch works well, powerful motor, easy to start, easy chain tensioner. Overall a great saw for home use.

Weaknesses:
Chain gets dull quickly. Chain comes loose but doesn't fall off.

Summary:
Lousy product. Extemely poor performance. No matter what color you make it, it's not worth the money.

Strengths:
It looked pretty, like a bumble bee. It was lightweight. Decent price.

Weaknesses:
Pull on this, would be a better name. Getting it started and keeping it running was more work than using an axe. I kept up with the proper maintenance, using it for no more than five hours from the time I bought it. After using it for less than an hour this year, it wouldn't stay running. I had it looked at by a repairman who said that the cylinder wall was scorched. He said that it would cost more for repairs than the thing was worth. I tried calling Poulan and found out that their automated phone system kept taking me into the "dead zone," with no response. Bottom line: Their products are a piece of crap. What's more, I borrowed a similar Poulan chainsaw from a friend, and guess what? Won't stay running. Hard-starting. Junk! Maybe, I need to hire a beaver. One more thing: Electrolux, I hope you're reading this. You state that your policy is to continously improve your product. Where's the proof? Perhaps the answer is in the remainder of your policy which states that you can discontinue your products without obligation to any purchaser. What kind of company are you? I hope you don't claim to be an American company; that would be a slap in the face. Straighten up fellas. Bring back the greatness, instead of the greediness.

Summary:
overall i like this saw i have cut LOTS of trees down about 4 acres, i ended up getting a 16 inch arbor max bar and oregon chisel chains for mine. was bought on christmas 2010 just replaced sprocket drum in nov 2011... great saw if you keep it clean adjusted right and maintained. i oil my chain each time i refuel and keep it sharp... flip bar over after each sharpening, mix fuel correctly, check air filter every 20 hours or week and be safe while operating... i have easily used mine 6 hrs a day for 4 weeks in the winter. also clean the grooves and oil holes in the bar. i expect that i will have this saw for years to come...i have had a craftsman/poulan it was about the same and it lasted me a good 15 years

Strengths:
good power for 35cc, chain brake if needed, anti-vibration handle is nice, easy to start cold or warm weather, not to heavy, easy to maintain, clean and operate.

Weaknesses:
the bar could be a little better made, after awhile my gas cap get tight i just use pliers to open and close it, could come with chisel chain instead of safety chain
