one of the best saws I have ever owned.I have had numerous saws over the past 30 years, and all of my jonsereds have outlasted my stihls and huskys.

excellent power to weight ratio. Responsive accelleration.excellent,reliable saw.

Absolutely the best quality saw I have ever owned. Tremendous power yet very well behaved. Nice screw in fuel & oil caps unlike my Stihl 250.

Summary:
The best saw your money can buy ( 2171 and husky 372 ) I run the Jred but they are the same saw. Handles large bars and will cut wood all day long !! This saw is loud but I actually like that in a saw.

Strengths:
This saw cuts faster then anything I have ever used. The 28 inch bar does not slow it down one bit. Sounds mean when it is wide open you can really hear amd feel the power. I own four Husky's and this is my favorite saw.

Weaknesses:
Never starts on the 1st 2nd or 3rd pull when it is cold, although it fire's back up with easy everytime it is even semi warm still. Have to watch out who is behind you because it will spit alot of chips a longggggg way.

Dont have a 71 but i did just order a 2172 today! :) i cant wait to get it i just hope its as good as a71. if aanybody has one please let me know what you think. the dealer has never had one in yet but said his jonsered rep has lots of good reports from the field

i just got to use my 2172 today. it has very good low end torque. only made about ten cut with it because theres too much snow to get into the woods so i just made some cuts in the wood pile i already have. it also starts better than any other jonsered i have used.

I got my 2172 going on five weeks and i love the thing its lighter and keeps wright up with my budeys 460 mag and yes it is the best starting jonsered i have had I can down and top 9-12 trees per tank sofor its got about 10 try axls under its belt

Strengths:
Owned this saw for a couple of years now and I loved the saw. Mine has the 22 inch Oregon powermatch bar. I have never seen any other saw cut through the large yellow birch hardwoods as this does. I will definitely buy another one if something happens to this one.

i got mine out the door at $786 an for me it was a huge investment but thats exactly what it is, an investment. its already paid for itself an ive only owned it for nearly 5 months now. truth is that im dam proud of it cuz i know what i got an so doesnty everyone else so they just pretty much bend over an take it cuz their saw are pretty much a huge loss of money haha, if you own a stihl ya cool well how do i feel rippin you apart from your pride haha but husky owners i still respect you ya your all good men for ownin the name the legend the god of all saws. ya i went over board talking like a fool but i was only trying to convey to all the true nature of the jonsered cs 2172. its a dominant, unchallenged, incredibly reliabe an super powerful tree shreddin cutting legend in its own time. now nothing else on the market can really compare, thats just honest truth, no lies from me no sir, but if anyone says their 70cc class is better, well then they're just blowin smoke up ur ass

very well thought out concept and design of the overall saw, meant to crush all other comparable saw (an does so with ease) very well ballanced, good market for anything you may need, and beautiful saw all the way around

well it's a saw that you need a big long shlong to belong owning other saws and woodsmans pride an reputations(no im not the 12yr old faggit thats gunna get tagged by his near by priest thursday just as usual that writes pathetic stuff on here cuz he gets beat like a slutty bitch at school) in all honesty i bought this saw with my hard earned money and it has lived up to nbot only my stringent but also ALL of friends an families expectations. i grew up loggin along with many others in the area an there really is nothing else on the market in the 70cc class that even comes close

Summary:
Awesome, have used Stihl and other brands, nothing compares to a Jred. Have owned a 590 for about 25 years, very dependable. would recommend the 2171 to anyone with saw experience, definately not a beginner model. Chain replacement very easy, lines right up with the tensioner every time. Very high quality and worth the price.

Strengths:
great ergonomic design, very powerful, really like the high idle on the initial start. I use a 28" bar all the time, occasionally a 20, cruises through red oak with the right chain.

Weaknesses:
om/off switch could be a little larger, but that's really digging deep to find a critcism.

Strengths:
people like that guy couple of posts ago haha. yeah now thats about as rough as you can get but as much as id hate to admitt it he's true an honest. the saw does have huge power extreme acceleration and very fine ballance. durability was oviously a concern while developing along with fit finish and function.

Weaknesses:
alittle pricey. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING THIS SAW IF YOUR A BEGINNER!

Great saw, Jonnyred makes a great product.

Strengths:
A great saw all the way around. Had my 2172 for about 7 monthes. Runs great, strong saw and not as heavy as my 2186. I would buy another one.
