Summary:
You won't find a better 52cc saw for under $400.00....I tried.
Run only 92 octane gas and synthetic oil(40 to 1) and this saw will never let you down.
I own 5 Husqvarna saws, this one is the smallest, and gets used the most!
Strengths:
I own several Husqvarna saws, and this one has been an excellent saw. It's lightweight, high reving, reliable, and with an 18" 325 chain will out cut my 359 with a 3/8 chain (both semi-chisel profiles) After 100 face cords of wood, it still hasn't missed a beat....Not a better saw on the market for less than $400.00 I bought a new Stihl MS290 last year (57cc 18" 325 chain)looking for a saw with a little more blocking speed, but it's performance wasn't even on par with this 353, and it weighed more, was wider, and even after tuning, didn't cut as fast(needless to say, sold it and bought a 359) Keep the chain sharp and tight, and you will not find a better saw for firewood cutting. Run only semi-chisel 325 chains.. The square tooth chisels get dull after 1/2 tank of gas, and then you try to use the saw for a lever. This saw always starts in 4-5 pulls cold, & 1 hot.
Weaknesses:
Jetted lean from factory, so cut off the limiters on the fuel fixture adjustment screws to richen them up....Thats it!!!
Used product for 2-Years
