Summary:
when i bought this saw i was hoping that i could do some serious cutting with it. judging from how it never ran good it wasnt gonna happen. i kept pulling on it and pulling and pulling and pulling. after about 50 pulls later, the decomp valve broke and would not go in. i could push it in then it would pop out after 2 seconds. i even tried duct taping down. then after another 50 pulls, it started but ran for only 30 seconds before stalling. whne i pulled on it 10 more times, it started. then without warning a loud bang which sounded like a gun shot was heard and saws muffler went flying accross the yard. and i knew this saw was done. i took it back to the dealer and he said that the engine blew. thats when i tolod him that the saw was still under warrenty, which he repiles that the warrenty expired on it. i was pissed, the guy saw me that way and gave me another. but do u honestly think that i would use another peice of shit. i just took it down 2 the shoting range and i met the buisiness end of a 12 guage. think about it. i had this saw for 4 hours and crapped out that fast. ill make sure to buy an 088. most powerful in the world my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths:
none.

Weaknesses:
everything about this saw. wont start, too exspensive, and much much more.

Summary:
A saw With Manual Oiler is about the best you can do in a large saw !

Strengths:
My name is rich here in ohio i have been a private tree trimer now for 26 years . i have dealt with small engines now for 30 years i mowed lawns most of my life started climbing trees in 85 but anyways . The 3120xp is the best finest saw for the worlds largest !!! Because it is the only one with a Manual Oiler you can add extra oil to bar ! Awsome .! it is the only large new saw you can do that with . if your cutting tree's you know what im talking about .

Weaknesses:
The guy that had troubles with the 3120xp above for some reason had a loose flywheel on the left Engine ? why was the Flywheel Loose ?? i dont know but maybe it was not put back on correct ? that is what makes those small engines backfire is woodruff key troubles Well see ya Rich ..

Summary:
The saw has been great, it's very reliable, powerful, and strait forward to use. I also think since the gas this saw burns is mixed little richer than what other saws burn (it's 40-1) I really believe it's why they last so long. I have a small tree service and have used mine for seven years with ZERO problems. Don't believe the idiot who commented earlier who said he blew his up, by reading his BS story it's obvious he doesn't know squat about saws. Anyone who would take a new $1700 saw to the firing range is either really stupid,.. or more than likely... LYING!

An excellent choice for professinals tended to work in harsh conditions with large logs where most others fail to complete even the slightest tasks. STIHL also produces such type chainsaws but they ain't that powerful as this is.

Summary:
Great for the old models but unfortunately terrible for the new due to the muffler issue

Strengths:
Great saw for the big cuts

Weaknesses:
Have had three 3120s bought from new the first two had no problems. But the last one has a manufacturing fault the muffler bolts continues to vibrate loose in the middle of jobs. Have tried locktite (as per dealer advise)-with no luck.It would appear that they have changed the way they fix the muffler, talked to my contract climber who stated everyone he has meet with this saw has same problem. Has anyone else experienced this. Do you have any solutions?

"manual oiler" is a joke; terrible mechanical engineer that came up with the idiotic idea.. When you turn the "manual oiler" on, it simply puts the oiler at max flow rate. I run the saw at full (turn screw all the way in and it does the EXACT same thing as the "manual oiler" all the time anyways so it honestly is pointless. The "manual oiler" cable design is idiotic at best. I am 100% hard core husky owner and own/collect ONLY husky saws.. ~ 20-30 saws from small 133SE to 2100CD, 2101XP, 3120XPs.. But the TRUE MANUAL override pump on a 2100/2101 is a TRUE manual pump that would allow you to put extra oil on the bar that the automatic oiler might not have for you.
